Trust · Account deletion

One account,
yours to end.

Anybody who signs in to Qutb can close their account themselves — in the app, in a minute, with nobody’s permission to ask for and no waiting period. This page says every way, and what stays when the account is gone.

Self-service · in the app, on the web, or by mail

In the app

In the Qutb app, open the MORE tab and press “Delete my Qutb account”, then press “Delete my account” to confirm. The confirmation names what happens next; the erasure begins the moment you confirm it.

  • It erases you from every masjid the account belongs to — not one masjid, all of them at once.
  • It closes the sign-in account itself, on every phone and browser it was signed in on.
  • An account signed in with Apple has its Apple tokens revoked with Apple before the erasure begins; if Apple cannot be reached, the erasure goes ahead anyway.
  • It is offered in every signed-in state — a member at a masjid, signed in with no masjid yet, or a membership standing suspended.

On the web

Signed in on a masjid’s own site, the account page lets you leave that masjid, erase your name and number from its records, and download a copy of what it holds about you. That page acts on one masjid only. To close the account itself — every masjid at once — use the app, or write to us.

What stays

Your donations and their receipts stay in each masjid’s records, without your name — a receipt is never rewritten. A masjid keeps the ledger facts its accounts must keep, for the periods the retention ruling (ADR-0054) sets; an erasure leaves every copy, backups included, within seven days.

If you cannot sign in

To close an account you can no longer sign in to, write to salam@qutb.one from the address the account signs in with, and we close the account and write back to that address. Nobody needs your password to do this, and nobody at Qutb will ever ask for it.
